Press Release – Tablet Academy Scotland Partners with Microsoft!

Explore Explore Tablet Academy Scotland is delighted to announce a new partnership with Microsoft as their Regional Development Partner for Scotland.

Regional Development Partner for Scotland means TAS will deliver a substantial package of training and support to schools across Scotland on behalf of Microsoft. This partnership will see us develop a comprehensive programme of events, workshops and support to schools across Scotland.

Working closely with local authorities.

How we feel about this;

“I’m really proud that TA Scotland has been selected by Microsoft as their Regional Development Partner for Scotland. We’ve got some really exciting plans coming together for this work,” says Pam Currie (CEO) at Tablet Academy Scotland. “We’ve all learned a lot in the pandemic period and there’s a real passion in the education world for redefining what learning looks like now. We’re working with Microsoft across Scotland to help make that happen.”

“We are excited to be working in partnership with Microsoft to deliver bespoke training events to educators, and to support schools with the next steps on their digital journeys,” says Niall Ridgway, Digital Specialist at Tablet Academy Scotland. “Microsoft is committed to education and together, with our shared aspirations on innovation, we are looking forward to making a difference in Scotland.”

A word from Microsoft;

Chris Rothwell, Director of Education at Microsoft UK, said: “Microsoft is proud to be working with Tablet Academy Scotland to help advance education system transformation. The support that Microsoft and Tablet Academy Scotland can provide to schools on their digital journeys will help to ensure that technology is at the heart of day-to-day learning. This, in turn, will enhance the overall academic experience for students and ensure that they hold the skills required for today’s digital-first working environments.”

The benefits of this new partnership are really exciting for Scottish education.

  • Running the Incubator and Showcase schools programmes in Scotland which will see us partner with a number of schools on their digital transformation journeys coaching, supporting and celebrating their successes
  • Educators joining our events and workshop sessions will be given unique codes to achieve MIE certifications in the Microsoft Educator Centre
  • Being able to Develop Digital Literacy Skills across Scotland

All Events are free to attend.

Microsoft is funding the events and they are all provided free and open to any Scottish Educator. The sessions will be focused on Microsoft tools but will be targeted at different subjects, levels and roles within education. For example; we will be running some leadership sessions alongside sessions aimed at early years and secondary subject areas.

Where can you find the events and register?

Our first event is already live and free for all who register. This virtual event sees us team up with the Microsoft team to launch their digital skills programme- ‘Explore the digital future’ in Scotland on 7th September. bit.ly/taevents
